Or the “old school” way, by following the route:
1) Riga–Moscow motorway (A12 / E66) to Varakļāni, turn to Nagļi and further to Īdeņa.
2) Riga–Moscow motorway (A12 / E66) to Pļaviņas, turn towards Madona (P37), turn towards Barkava (P84) and then to Meirāni (P82) where you turn towards Degumnieki and further to Īdeņa.
3) Riga–Pskov motorway (A2 / E77) to Bērzkrogs, turn towards Madona (P30), turn towards Barkava (P84) and then to Meirāni (P82) where you turn towards Degumnieki and further to Īdeņa.
4) Rezekne–Gulbene road (P36) to Gaigalava village, turn right in the village centre and further to Īdeņa.
Public transport via Īdeņa runs only twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays – following the route: Viļāni– Varakļāni–Nagļi– Īdeņa–Gaigalava.
